Jamaica Land I Love

Jamaica50 Entry #10 Jamaica Land I Love (Poem)
Jamaica is 50 years old,
As a nation we should be strong and bold,
We have truly reached a huge milestone,
Indeed we have demonstrated that we have our own backbone.
In this fiftieth year,
Our nation we should hold dear,
Like an emblem, our country’s pride we should wear,
And we should ensure that this pride we never smear.
But what should we really contribute to this land?
Is it neglect? Is it mistreatment? NO, it is a lending hand?
We must live as a small yet peaceful isle,
For our country we must go the extra mile.
So in the 50th celebration, let us not hesitate,
To make meaningful contributions for our country’s sake,
Let us remain committed and true to this nation,
Let us pave the way for the next generation.
I love Jamaica with all my heart,
I will always love my country, until death do us part,
Even after death, to this isle I’ll stay true,
And I would advice you to do the same too.
