How to Handle Shipping from Jamaica for My Online (Ebay) Business

1. Jamaica Post (The Post Office) – Affordable but Slower
   Jamaica Post offers international shipping via:
   
   
   
   • Regular Airmail (cheaper but no tracking)
     
   • Registered Airmail (with tracking but still slow) and
     
   • Express Mail Service (EMS) – This is faster and comes with tracking.
     
   
   
   ✅ Pros: Cheapest option, available islandwide
   ❌ Cons: Slower, not always reliable for tracking
   Also, there list of destinations change randomly so please ask.
   
   
2. Private Couriers – Faster but More Expensive
   For more reliable and faster shipping, you can use:
   
   
   
   • DHL – Fast and very reliable, but pricey. You can ask for a business account though.
     
   • FedEx – Great for express shipping and document tracking but can get pricey.
     
   • Tara or Knutsford Express (for local deliveries within Jamaica). There are a few new ones coming on board as well.
     
   
   
   ✅ Pros: Faster delivery, better tracking
   ❌ Cons: Higher costs
   

Customs & Duties – Things to Keep in Mind

• Declaration Forms – Always fill out customs forms properly to avoid delays.
  
• Import Duties & Taxes – Some buyers may have to pay extra duties when receiving packages (especially in the UK and EU). Etsy gave me a code to put on the declaration though to prevent that for UK customers.
  
• Restricted Items – Make sure your handmade items aren’t on Jamaica’s restricted goods list.
