Are There Good Fishing Spots In Jamaica?
Yes, Absolutely! Some of the major areas for fishing are Ocho Rios, Negril, Port Antonio and Montego Bay.
Can You Fish In Montego Bay Jamaica?
Yes, you can. Montego Bay is a great area for fishing for both locals and tourists. While locals may know the hidden spots to make the perfect catch, it's probably best for tourists to take a fishing tour with one of the many fishing charters located in Montego Bay.
So don’t leave your favourite rod or hooks, here are five of the top charters for fishing in Montego Bay:
1. Lucky Bastard Fishing Charters
This 35' Bertram Yacht is owned and operated by Captain Martin. All trips that you book will be completely private and can accommodate up to 6 persons.
As a part of your package, you will receive a cooler filled with bottled water, sodas and half a case of Red Stripe Beer. you can also choose to make add-ons such as a lunch bag that will contain chips, sandwiches and energy bars, or additional beers to your cooler.
They also offer island-wide transportation arrangements. They operate between the hours of 6 am to 6 pm daily and are located on Sunset Drive, Freeport Montego Bay.

2. Just Hook It Charters
“Still Keepin’ It Jiggy” is the name of this 35′ Cabo Flybridge powered by twin 450 hp Caterpillar diesel. It is normally docked at the Montego Bay Yacht Club but if preferred you can also request to get on at the Doctor’s Cave Beach.
They accommodate up to 6 persons of all ages and offers a luxurious fishing experience. The yacht is fully air-conditioned and has state of the art electronics and amenities including a full bathroom, microwave and refrigerator.
Captain Stephen and Captain Sascha have over 20 years of fishing experience, so you will be in good hands and may learn a few tricks as well. They operate between the hours of 7 am and 7 pm daily.

3. Reel Magic Charters and Sports Fishing
This is a family-owned business that started in August of 2016. They have received a “Certificate of Excellence” on TripAdvisor and “Angler’s Choice” on Fishing Booker.
Besides fishing, they also offer snorkelling tours and cruises. Fishing packages include up to 6 people, additional persons will attract a fee. They offer transfer in and around Montego Bay, locations further out of town can also be arranged at an additional cost.
Your package also includes red stripe beers, soda, bottled water, snacks, baits and lures, fishing equipment and cleaning and filleting of your catch. You can also request to catch and dine.

4. Jamaica Sports Fishing and Cruises Limited
They have locations in Montego Bay, Ocho Rios and Falmouth the regions where blue and white marlins, mahi-mahi, wahoo, black and yellow find tuna, skipjack, kingfish, mackerel, and sailfish are popular catches. Dates, location for pick and passenger counts are all customizable. Charters include all equipment needed for your fishing excursion.

5. Kelly’s Water Sports Jamaica Ltd
They offer a wide range of water sports activities such as scuba diving, parasailing, tubing, snorkelling, deep-sea fishing and glass-bottom boat rides. Their deep-sea fishing rates start at $750 USD for 4 hours. They are located on Sunset Dr, Montego Bay.
