And they were not to be disappointed. After the formalities, the special moment arrived, and at 8:40pm, the symbolic Christmas tree was lit to the delight of the patrons.
But it also meant time for the live performances which everyone came to see!
Yes, Jamaica's song bird Alaine was the guest performer, but the lineup featured some of the best artistes and performers in the city, both upcoming a experienced.

As usual, the ceremony, earlier, featured speeches, wishes and pledges from esteemed members of the municipality, government as well as private sector interests, representing the sponsors.
Representatives of New Fortress Energy (the main sponsor), Digicel and JPS gave greetings. Other sponsors include FosRich, Kris An Charles and Tyre Warehouse.

I was particularly impressed with the Lay Migratates choir as well... I didn't even knew they had one. That lead singer has a powerful voice.
Of course, Anique Morris, showed why she is one of the best in the parish, with her powerful renditions of Joy To The World and Oh Holy Night.
Yvonne Cohen's new song, "Members Of Parliament" resonated well with the crowd and had them singing all along.
And yes, I have the highlights in pictures and video, starting, right now...
...others were busy 'peddling their wares'.
