New Years Eve Fireworks In JamaicaNew Years Eve Fireworks In Jamaica

By Venesha Johnson | Associate Writer

No matter where you are in the world, there is a single universal way to ring in the new year and that's with a countdown and fireworks. Many years ago unless you were at the waterfront in Kingston or at a private event or party, we had no true way to really take in the fireworks, up close and in person. Thankfully the Urban Development Corporation (UDC) over the past few years have been able to change that.

New! Take a piece of Jamaica with you💃!

Savour the memories!  Now you can get your authentic Jamaican souvenir items, as well as traditional Jamaican herbs, spices and housewares on our popular e-store. Click Here to learn more.

And, if you ever need a trustworthy and knowledgeable local guide, consider booking a private tour with us!

To ring in the 2025 new year, the UDC is doing it bigger than ever, under the theme “Life, Love, and Harmony.” It's a grand affair, offering more accessibility and entertainment than ever before, making it a must-attend event for families and friends across the island.

The Fireworks Festival isn’t just about the dazzling display in the night sky; it’s an all-day event filled with fun and entertainment for everyone. For the first time, the festival will take place at three key locations:

1. Kingston Waterfront

2. Ocho Rios Bay Beach in St. Ann

3. Harmony Beach Park in Montego Bay, St. James

Each location offers a day packed with activities starting at noon. Visitors can enjoy a craft village, a kiddies’ play area with rides, a lively street party, and a stage show featuring top musical acts.

Kingston’s Fireworks Festival Lineup

At the Kingston Waterfront, you will be treated to performances by some of our popular artists such as:

  • Kevin Downswell
  • Alaine
  • Chalice
  • Louie Culture
  • Samory I
  • Janeel Mills
  • Humble (a cappella group)
  • Orville Sutherland
  • Mortimer, with the backing band Fire Brand.

But that's not all. You know no event is complete without some mouthwatering Jamaican dishes!

Parking is always a touchy spot so ease of access is a priority this year. The UDC has made parking arrangements at multiple locations in Kingston, including:

  • Craft Market Car Park
  • Harbour Street Car Park
  • Jamaica Customs Agency Car Park

A park-and-ride shuttle service will also operate from National Heroes Park, allowing attendees to avoid parking woes.

For those seeking an upgraded experience, VIP front-row tickets are available at:

  • Adults: $15,000
  • Children: $10,000
  • Family of Four: $40,000
  • Admission to the kiddies’ village for all-day rides is $1,500.

Fireworks In Ocho Rios and Montego Bay

Ocho Rios Bay Beach, St. Ann
Hosted by Jennifer ‘Jenny Jenny’ Small, this location will showcase artists like Gramps Morgan, Little Hero, and Chezidek, among others.

Harmony Beach Park, Montego Bay, St. James
Headlined by Luciano, the lineup includes performers such as AJ Brown and Papa Michigan, promising a memorable evening by the seaside.
Both locations also feature designated parking, ensuring smooth entry and exit for attendees.

The New Year’s Eve Fireworks Festival is more than just a spectacle; it’s a tradition cherished by Jamaicans for decades. As Robert Honeyghan, General Manager of the UDC, points out, it brings together people of all generations, backgrounds, and walks of life. It’s also a significant economic opportunity for small businesses, with vendors and local entrepreneurs benefiting from the bustling crowds.

This year’s festival is supported by a diverse group of sponsors, including:

  • Ministry of Economic Growth and Job Creation
  • Tourism Enhancement Fund
  • GraceKennedy Group
  • Digicel
  • PanJam Group

Their contributions ensure that the festival remains free to the general public while delivering an unforgettable experience.

The Fireworks Festival is a perfect way to bid farewell to 2024 and welcome 2025 with life, love, and harmony. Whether you’re in Kingston, Ocho Rios, or Montego Bay, this celebration is bound to leave lasting memories. So grab your friends and family, and get ready for a New Year’s Eve to remember!
