Later when the musician died, he was buried there and a Mausoleum was created in his memory.
The Bob Marley Mausoleum is a 3-hour guided tour through the life and old stomping grounds of Bob Marley. On this tour you will see, pictures of Bob Marley as a child, his parents, records, awards, his childhood home and his current resting place.
During the tour, you will also be treated to songs from Bob Marley’s extensive and rich catalogue by the live band on stage.
Great way to see authentic parts of Jamaica such as Brownstown and Alexandria. Be prepared to pay for your admission as current entrance prices (Aug 2022) are $30 for adults and $15 USD for kids 7 years old and above.
9 Mile is nearly 2 hours away from Ocho Rios although they are in the same parish. St. Ann is the biggest parish in Jamaica which means even though both areas are in St. Ann they are still some distance apart.
The journey takes you out of the towns and into the countryside where the roads are long and winding. The lush vegetation and laidback people compensate immensely for the length of the trip. Indeed, we can definitely confess that although the journey is lengthy, it is as much a part of the trip as the destination.

They strongly advise against pregnant visiting the Bob Marley Mausoleum as it does include lots of standing and walking around and the travel time to get to the location is considerable.
