Urgent opening for echocardiographer (cardiac sonographer)

A cardiology practice in Kingston, Jamaica seeks a qualified echocardiographer (cardiac sonographer) to join our team.

He or she will be responsible for performing echocardiograms (cardiac ultrasounds) on patients at our head office in Kingston as well as several locations across the island.

Applicant must be a trained, qualified cardiac sonographer with at least 5 years experience. An attractive salary package including accommodation, food and transportation will be provided.

Company Details :
The position is that of cardiac sonographer at our Leading Health care company which is a specialist cardiology practice located in Kingston Jamaica.

We provide cardiology consultations, electrocardiography, echocardiography, stress echocardiography and nuclear cardiology from our headoffice in Kingston as well as at several satellite locations islandwide.

We have a team of cardiologists, nurses and technicians but are now seeking to engage a full time cardiac sonographer.

Job Description :
He will be responsible for performing echocardiograms, stress echocardiograms, stress ECGs, ECGs as well as Holter monitors and Ambulatory blood pressure monitor hookups daily.

The holters and ambulatory blood pressure hook-up duties will be shared with out cardiac nurses while the echo and stress echo duties will be performed exclusively by the cardiac sonographer.
Work hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm with an hour for lunch. Workdays are Monday to Friday.

Requirement :
Age: 20 - 40
Gender: Male (male preferred because job will sometimes involve travel around the island)

Qualification: degree in nursing, Certification in echocardiography (period of training should be a minimum of 2 years)

Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a cardiac sonographer in a dedicated cardiac unit or a large hospital setting

Duration of contract: 1 yr - 3yrs (depending on satisfaction with quality of work) with the option to extend.

Language Proficiency: English

Other: Should possess a driver licence.
