With so much to do though, you need a plan before you get there so you don’t miss out on any of the must-see attractions and activities. So here is a list of the best things to do in Portland Jamaica. 

 1. Reach Falls

Reach Falls is pure magic. The cascading waterfalls surrounded by lush greenery make this spot a must-visit. Whether you’re swimming in the natural pools or braving the “rabbit hole” for a thrilling jump, this hidden paradise is worth every moment. 

 2. Boston Jerk Center

When it comes to authentic Jamaican food, the Boston Jerk Center is king. Known as the birthplace of jerk cuisine, this spot is where the flavours of spicy, smoky jerk chicken and pork come alive. Grab a plate, savour the history, and leave with a happy belly.

3. Blue Lagoon

A visit to Portland isn’t complete without experiencing the Blue Lagoon. Famous for its vibrant blue and green hues, this lagoon offers the perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. Dive into its cool waters or swing from tree vines like a scene straight out of a movie.

4. Errol Flynn Marina

Port Antonio is home to the stunning Errol Flynn Marina, named after the Hollywood actor who fell in love with Portland in the 1950s. With a world-class harbour, helicopter landing pad, and breathtaking views, this marina is a peaceful retreat for visitors.  

 5. Winnifred Beach

If you’re looking for a chill day at the beach, Winnifred Beach is the answer. This local favourite offers soft sands, warm waters, and a welcoming vibe. Snorkel among the reefs or simply relax while enjoying some jerk chicken from nearby vendors.

 6. Folly Mansion

Step into the past at the Folly Ruins, a once-luxurious mansion now shrouded in mystery. Built in 1901 by a wealthy American, the ruins are tied to tales of heartbreak and wealth loss. Wander through the remnants and let your imagination run wild. 

 7. Frenchman’s Cove

For a beach day with a twist, Frenchman’s Cove is the place to be. This secluded cove boasts a unique setting where a cool river meets the warm ocean. The swings over the river make for great photo opportunities while you soak up the serene vibes.

 8. Boston Bay Beach

Surfers and foodies unite at Boston Bay Beach. With waves perfect for riding and jerk vendors serving up mouthwatering dishes, this lively spot has something for everyone. Whether you’re catching waves or sampling local cuisine, it’s an experience you won’t forget. 

 9. The Blue Mountains

Outdoor enthusiasts will fall in love with the Blue Mountains. From hiking and camping to enjoying the cool temperatures, this range is a haven for nature lovers. Don’t leave without sampling the world-famous Blue Mountain Coffee or touring its estates.

10. Rafting on the Rio Grande 

For a relaxing and scenic adventure, hop onto a bamboo raft and glide along the Rio Grande. This iconic activity, popularised by Errol Flynn, is the perfect way to soak in Portland’s natural beauty while being guided by skilled raft captains.
