Here are some of the best scuba diving sites to explore while in Ocho Rios.

1. Jamaica Wall

This dive site, which is fantastic for Advanced divers, features a French-style reef at a depth of 60 feet. The Atlantic spadefish, chubs, turtles, sharks, barrel sponges, sea fans, and gorgonians are among the sights to behold.

2. Jacks Hall

There are a variety of sponges, finger coral, brain coral, star coral, and the rare elkhorn coral on the shallow end of this medium-profile reef. During your exploration youโ€™ll pass over a reef section, then a sand gully, then another reef section, and so on. Nurse sharks are common in the area as well, and are frequently seen taking naps in the sand.

3. Dickies Reef

Although this reef is comparatively flat, it tapers off very gently to a depth of 60 feet. Barracuda, lionfish, sting rays, crabs, lobsters, butterfly fish, chromis, damsels, barrel sponges, and sea fans are among the sea creatures you might run in to. 

4. Ocho Rios Wall

A natural wall dive, the Ocho Rios wall boasts a wide range of marine life and corals. The varied species found here include a modest number of fish such as snappers, butterfish, etc., along with the occasional sea horse. Eels, turtles, sea fans, barrel sponges, and gorgonians are additional sights.

5. The Wreck of the Kathryn

This old minesweeper, which was sunk in 50 feet of water along a vast reef system sometime in 1991, is one of the most popular in Ocho Rios. The ship measures about 120 feet in length. It is 20 feet from the surface to the ship's highest point. Filled with sea fans and barrel sponges this site is one of the most popular in the area. Sting rays, Sergeant Majors, Flaming Scallops, Nurse Sharks, Caverns, Lobster, Eels, Sea Snakes, Hamlets, and Snapper are a few possible sights.

6. Reggae Queen

Reggae Queen is a shallow dive site located just off the coast of Ocho Rios. It features a beautiful coral reef that is home to a variety of marine life such as sea fans, sponges, and colourful fish. Divers can also explore the underwater tunnels and caves that are located throughout the site.

7. Devil's Reef

A 3- to 4-minute boat journey will take you to Devil's Reef, which is on the eastern side of Ocho Rios. It is a deep dive and a sizable reef. Its top begins at a depth of about 65 feet (20 meters), and the reef descends to a depth of 130 feet (40 meters). The Devil's Reef is abundant in both little and huge marine life in its many fissures, holes, and breaks. Turtles, nurse sharks, bogas, barracudas, jackfish, moray eels, snappers, and groupers are possible sightings. sea fans, staghorn corals, and blackball sponges. Nudist branches and crabs.

8. Top of the Mountain

This large underwater mountain plateau rises up from the sandy ocean floor to 60 feet below the surface at Dunn's River Falls. Numerous varieties of soft gorgonians and small coral heads, including sea rods, sea plumes, sea fans, brain coral, star coral, and clusters of smooth flower coral, cover the top of the reef. Keep an eye out for the uncommon yellow check wrasse and the golden hamlets that frequent this region. Squirrelfish, glasseye snappers, and graysbys are all concealed in the coral heads.

9. Middle Shoal Reef

Middle Shoal Reef has a little bit of everything. This reef has two sides that are suitable for divers of different levels of experience. Spade fish, turtles, French grunts, squirrel fish, barracuda, and many other species have been spotted. At this location, there is also a small-engine plane wreck. You'll run into a 200-foot drop-off if you plunge farther out. The depth of the area that is appropriate for novices is 30 feet. You might see anything on this dive, from scorpion fish and stingrays to crabs and starfish. Around the reef, there are also a lot of sea fans and barrel sponges.

With its diverse range of dive sites and stunning underwater scenery, it's no wonder why this area of Jamaica is a popular choice for scuba divers from around the world.
