No matter where you are in this world, there is one common issue, what will you eat?
Fortunately, you are on vacation in Jamaica, so it is a problem that is easily solved. The numerous restaurants in Negril offer a range of different options for food from authentic Jamaican to International fare. The choice is yours.
Located on the Seven Mile Beach stretch is Wine With Me, the onsite restaurant at the Beachcomber Resort Club. Although the restaurant is on the hotel's property, it is open to the public as well.
The tastefully designed fine-dining restaurant serves authentic Jamaican dishes as well as American and Caribbean inspired food. Not to mention their impressive wine list which if the owner is available, he will happily divulge the information on the best pairings to enhance your culinary experience even further.
Perched on a volcanic cliff overlooking the western portion of the Caribbean Sea, is this luxurious Jamaican restaurant. Rockhouse is open with enough time to serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, which never disappoints.
Whether you’ll have a morning coffee and an authentic Jamaican breakfast to start your day or a candlelit, romantic evening, Rockhouse Restaurant is prepared to fulfil both culinary experiences.
It is a jerk centre inspired restaurant which serves some of if not the most famous street food, prepared as authentically as possible. From peppered shrimp which is just as spicy as it would be In Middle Quarters, St. Elizabeth, to delicious, succulent cuts of Jerk Chicken and Pork, which can only be bested by Boston Jerk in Portland, the home of Jerk itself. Don’t forget your Port Royal fish and bammy to complete your island-wide culinary tour without having to leave your seat even once.
In the true spirit of a Jerk Centre or street food establishment, you will have music playing to keep you dancing and occupied until your food is ready.
Zimbali Culinary Retreats is more than just another restaurant. To fully immerse yourself in the culinary journey you are about to embark on, you first have to book a few days. You can travel up from the busier parts of Negril and into the mountains. While there is no minimum stay, it hardly makes sense to leave without seeing all Zimbali has to offer.
On night one, your tastebuds will be awakened by the food prepared by the world-class chefs. On day two, in addition to your meal, you will go on the Rasta tour, which is a tour of the grounds to see all the fresh fruits and vegetables being tended to by their full-time farm staff. Night 3 is where you will see the award-winning chefs perform the culinary masterpiece that is to be your meal.
Of course, if you wish to speed up the tour and not stay all three days, that is completely possible, though it may attract a small fee.
Somewhere between all the excitement, you can hike to Rasta Fyah’s ital cooking on a wood fire in the hills.
With their dining packages and rooms and suites, customising the perfect retreat is completely up to you. They are only able to accommodate 20 persons, so if this is an experience you would like to have then, you would have to check for availability well in advance.
This is truly one of the most unique restaurants in Negril and you should definitely give it a try.
This well-known vegetarian restaurant satisfies your dine-in or takeout options. Even with a small menu, they have retained many customers who are both locals and returning guests of Negril. At Rasta Ade Vegetarian Restaurant you can eat according to your dietary needs or preferences and still have the Jamaican culinary experience.
What’s even better, you can have your meal at the seaside as the restaurant is located on the beach just beside the Grand Pineapple Resort.
Just note that the restaurant does not accept cards, it is cash only. My advice though is to pay in Jamaican currency as the exchange rate can be quite high here.
The brightly painted restaurant and open-air picnic benches, plus the smell of delicious Jerk Chicken lure many visitors to Kool Vybes Bar & Jerk Centre each day. If you don’t have the time to sit and enjoy your meal, you can always have it to go instead.
This is a great midday lunch spot with your family or friends in a casual setting. Enjoy a fresh jelly coconut (coconut water) or a sandwich and a cup of Blue Mountain coffee while you wait.
Jamaica is great at our own cuisine, but that isn’t all you can get here. At this Mexican restaurant, you can get tacos, burritos, and quesadillas all in a relaxed casual setting. Its opening and closing time makes it more of a lunchtime to early dinner type of restaurant.
This vegetarian and seafood restaurant has been serving Negril since 1998 when they opened their first restaurant on West End Road. They have since moved, but the family-owned business still serves up delicious vegetarian, ital and seafood options to its guests on a daily basis.
They are known for their delicious breakfast options whether it is a Jamaican breakfast or a delicious vegetarian style French toast.
This family-owned business is one of the longest-running restaurants in Negril and continues to serve Jamaican cuisine with vegetarian and vegan-friendly options as well.
Many people are at first attracted by the very affordable prices, however, what keeps them coming back is the delicious meals that the restaurant consistently provides, a fact that is evident in their 20 years of business in the area. They serve traditional Jamaican meals for breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner.
This restaurant serves Jamaican-Chinese food for lunch and dinner by the sea. This is one of the restaurants in Negril that opens the latest at night, so they are a good option for late-night meals. If you would prefer to stay in, they offer delivery services in the surrounding area.
Of course, these are just a ‘drop in the bucket’ (a tiny sampling) of the restaurants in Negril. There are many fine-dining and casual options which sell Jamaican and International and caters to many different diets and eating habits. Two things are sure in Negril: you won't be bored and you won’t be hungry.
