Question On Jamaica's History - 1947-49

What happened in Jamaica 1947/49 that had a profound impact on the future history of the Caribbean island.

Who planned the assassination of Alexander Bustamante in November 1948,and why was the plan aborted at the last minute.

I believe I am the only person left who can give the answers.
