Among the activities outlined were:

- A National Thanksgiving Service on Sunday, July 27;
- Island-wide Emancipation vigils;
- Emancipation Jubilee; Mello-Go-Roun; and

New to this year’s celebrations will be a Heart of Ska International Festival; Aunty Roachie Short Film and Literary Festival; Dutchie Food Festival; and the Big Stage: Pop and Variety Competition.
The Ministry of Youth and Culture is encouraging all Jamaicans to participate in the celebrations that will be taking place across the island.
Also, a major highlight of the 2015 Festival activities is the ‘Link Up and Labrish’ discussion forum that will be held at the Independence Village, Ranny Williams Entertainment Centre, 36 Hope Road, Kingston 10, from August 1-5, 2015.
