My father-Joseph Brown (Jamaica Defence Force)

Hello all,
Today is June 16, 2013 and it is Father's Day. I am Roxanne Brown, age 33 and I am trying to locate my father.
I was told that his name is Joseph Brown, nickname Bratus, of the Jamaica Defense Force. This is the only information that I have of him. I have been trying to find him since I was 16 years old, but to no avail. I am now 33 and I wonder if I ever will.
My mother's name is Gay "Lally" Beckford from McIntyre Villa, Franklyn Town "Dunkirk".
