Contest Entry #030 - Meadowbrook, St Andrew - View From My Father's House
The house is situated right at the foot of red Hills. Well almost literally. The house in the foreground has a gully running behind it.
For those unaware, this is the Jamaican method of channelling large amounts of rain water off the streets of St Andrew during the heavy rain seasons.
There actually is a large connecting network of these gullies that leads water out to the Riverton City area.
Not a very great topic to link to a picture but... the picture was taken with a very old hand held camcorder that my father used to take videos of nature walks with.
One day I decided to test out the capabilities it had for supporting a micro card and I took this picture.
There is one avenue behind the gully and those houses behind that avenue have their backyard sloping upowards unto the hills.
I miss Jamaica like EVERYDAY! What have I given it up for ????????? PLEASE TELL ME!!!
The house on the hill with the long stone wall was one of the first to have a large parabolic dish that got chewed up eventually by a hurricane. Nowadays we have cable tv. Oh the advances of technology! Common Assault!
