The Office of The Governor-General & Staff (King’s House) is seeking to recruit qualified, competent and experienced individuals who are forward-thinking, customer focused, and results-oriented, to fill the posts listed below on a contractual basis:
1. Head Butler (LMO/TS 4)
2. House Supervisor (GMG/AM 2)
3. Property Caretaker (SOG/ST 3)
4. Grounds/ Landscaping Supervisor (SOG/ST 3)
5. Farm Manager (SOG/ST 3)
1. Head Butler (LMO/TS 4)
Salary $540,956 - $612,040 per annum plus applicable allowance(s)
The Head Butler is responsible for the delivery of exceptional food & beverage service, as well as a range of housekeeping activities. He /she supervises the output of a Butler.
Training and Experience
• An Associate Degree/Advanced Certification in Hospitality Management/ Food Service, or equivalent from a recognized tertiary institution, AND
• Training in Wait Service and Food & Beverage Preparation. HEART TRUST/NTA certification desirable.
• Formal/specialized training in the skills set practiced by Butlers such as table service, routine home maintenance, organizing, AND
• At least five (5) years progressive experience in a comparable setting.
• Supervisory training and experience
• Valid Food Handler’s Permit
2. House Supervisor (GMG/AM 2)
Salary $1,082,224 - $1,286,424 per annum plus applicable allowance(s)
The House Supervisor is responsible for housekeeping activities in the Main Foyer, the State Ballroom, the Formal Dining Room, the Formal Drawing Room, the Morning Room, Office Suites and adjoining areas. The incumbent provides critical support for State Visits, official functions and events hosted by Their Excellencies; and, organizes, trains and directs assigned staff to assure effective operations.
Training and Experience
• An Associate Degree in Institutional Management/ Hospitality/Food Preparation & Service, and/or Housekeeping Certification from HEART/NTA desirable.
• At least three (3) years progressive experience managing housekeeping operations within the hotel industry or related field.
• Supervisory training and experience.
• Valid Food Handler’s Permit.
3. Property Caretaker (SOG/ST 3)
Salary $841,558 - $1,000,347 per annum plus applicable allowance(s)
The Property Caretaker cares for the buildings and grounds of King’s House, and carries out basic remedial maintenance repairs as and when needed.
Training and Experience
• CXC passes in four subjects including English Language and a numerate subject or equivalent, AND
• At least two (2) years experience in a similar capacity.
• Supervisory training and/or experience desirable
4. Landscaping/Grounds Supervisor (SOG/ST 3)
Salary $841,558 - $1,000,347 per annum plus applicable allowance(s)
The Grounds/Landscaping Supervisor has overall responsibility for the management and general aesthetic upkeep of the grounds and gardens of King’s House. He/she supervises a team of Grounds Men in preparing the grounds for State, Official and Civic Ceremonies, and a range of special events.
Training and Experience
• Associate Degree OR Diploma in Horticulture, Landscape, Gardening or Agriculture from a recognized tertiary institution.
• Certification in Pest Management or experience working with agricultural chemicals.
• Supervisory training and experience.
• At least three (3) years progressive experience in a similar capacity
• Valid Driver’s License useful but not mandatory.
5. Farm Manager (SOG/ST 3)
Salary $841,558 - $1,000,347 per annum plus applicable allowance(s)
The Farm Manager is responsible for developing and implementing long and short term plans for the Farm. He/she supervises a team of Grounds Men - Farm.
Training and Experience
•Undergraduate degree in Agriculture or related discipline from a recognized tertiary institution.
•At least three (3) years progressive experience managing a small to mid-size farm.
•Supervisory training and experience.
•Valid General Driver’s License and/or experience operating Farm equipment
