This is to request some help in getting information and search for the relatives of my father, Harold Edgar Blackhood, Jamaican citizen, who has already died in Cuba in 1964.

He was born around 1892,but unfortunately I don´t have any exact information about the place and date of birth in Jamaica because all his documents were destroyed in a fire.

He left Jamaica when he was 18 years old towards Panama, where he worked as a sailor. Afterwards he traveled to Cuba, where he worked at the Matahambre mines.

In Cuba he married to Agueda Francisca Hernandez and had three children. His grandparents were Nicholas Albert and Henrietta James. His aunts were Marion and Agatha Blackhood.

my grandmothers name was Adina Thomas. she was from the linstead area i believe st Catherine Spanish town.

she was a mother to my father Sidney George Wellington, but he was not raised by her, she also had a daughter.

my mum says people called my gran, mrs mac, i have no idea why as i am no longer in contact with my father.

I know my grans fathers name was Adolphus Thomas, also that the family had links to sunnyside, a place some 13 miles or so outside of spanish town. my gran passed away sometime during the 1980's.

I have no times or dates or cause, but would like to hear from anyone who may know of anything.I know that my gran lived in Birmingham, England for many years as did my father but that she returned to Jamaica sometime between 1980/1985.

I do not know of any siblings she may of had. I long ago lost contact with my estranged father so have no one else to ask for details. i cannot begin to search for her thru records yet without some form of dates, as the cost of trying to uncover details is astronomical and I am a single mother of 3 at college.

any info will be greatly appreciated. so to summarize.

I was told that my grandfather's name is Barney Stewart he was in the U.S. 1955 -1958 he lived in Newburgh New York where my mom was born. He gave her one of his family members Daphne.

She was born on July 3rd 1956 and she says he was deported back to Jamaica about a year or so after she was born.

I really don't have much info on him. I'm unsure if that is his real name or if just a name he was using. He was supposed to be married in Jamaica, and from Kingston.

We last saw you in 1976 when our mother left Jamaica with her husband Clement Street to come to England. At this time we lived with our Grandmother Ethlyn in Dalvey St Thomas until 1985 until we left to join our mother in England.

The other person who knew of you was Miss Olga who you used to meet up with at Cross Road Kingston.

I believe Miss Olga passed away in 1992. We are aware that you had a brother called George and your family land was on Halfway Tree Road and that you had a sister that traveled to America and that you also had two other sons.

He is a 39-year-old jamaican man who was born and raised in Jamaica until he was 21 and then spent many years in Europe as a Chef (and possibly part-time masseuse)

I met while in Negril March 20 - April 3. We were going to meet up to exchange e-mail addresses the last couple days of the trip and missed connecting.

He hung out with us girls from Minnesota and the guys from Ohio at the Mariners Beach Club.

Think he eats pretty regularly at the Sweet Spot Restaurant and lives near there on Norman Manley Boulevard.

He also might be found hanging out near the "beach shack" at the Fun Holiday Resort, where I believe he has something to do with the island/snorkeling trips.

If anyone knows of him, please pass along my e-mail and ask him to contact me...would like to keep in contact and share some of the pictures of the vacation with him...

I am trying to locate members of my father's family. Based on very sketchy information, He was born somewhere in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica to Malo Cornwall and Miss Coolie (mother - don't know her proper name)sometime in the early 50s (his recollection is July 17, 1954).

Searching for the Blackhood family

This is to request some help in getting information and search for the relatives of my father, Harold Edgar Blackhood, Jamaican citizen, who has already died in Cuba in 1964.

He was born around 1892,but unfortunately I don´t have any exact information about the place and date of birth in Jamaica because all his documents were destroyed in a fire.

He left Jamaica when he was 18 years old towards Panama, where he worked as a sailor. Afterwards he traveled to Cuba, where he worked at the Matahambre mines.

In Cuba he married to Agueda Francisca Hernandez and had three children. His grandparents were Nicholas Albert and Henrietta James. His aunts were Marion and Agatha Blackhood.
