Why You Should Visit Jamaica in November?

Warm Weather, Perfect Beach Days

The start of our “winter” season brings some of the best weather of the year. November temperatures hover around a comfortable 80°F, and the skies are generally sunny and clear with hurricane season winding down.

While you might catch a brief sprinkle here and there, rain showers are usually quick and refreshing, just enough to cool things down. By the end of the month, you’ll be in for some of the most perfect beach days we have all year!

Fewer Crowds and Lower Prices

Since November falls off-season, you’ll enjoy a more relaxed vibe across the island. Whether you’re exploring Dunn’s River Falls, soaking up the sun on Seven Mile Beach, or visiting the Bob Marley Museum, you won’t be elbow-to-elbow with big crowds.

Also, the off-season means you’ll find some of the best deals on flights and accommodations, so your trip might just be a bit easier on your wallet. The one exception?

Thanksgiving week! We get a little spike in visitors then, especially from our American friends. Prices and crowds may go up a touch, but they’re still nothing like the peak holiday season in December.

All the Jamaican Food You Can Handle!

Now, here’s a real treat for the foodies. If you love Jamaican food (and who doesn’t?), November is a fantastic month to come because of the food festivals that pop up around this time.

First up is Restaurant Week in mid-November, where over 75 restaurants around the island offer special discounts and showcase a full range of Jamaican cuisine. It’s the perfect time to sample everything from jerk chicken to fresh seafood, authentic patties, and everything in between.

Then, there’s the NyamJam Food and Music Festival (yes, “nyam” means “eat” in Jamaican patois, and “jam” is, of course, all about the music!).

This mid-November event brings together local and international celebrity chefs, giving you a delicious taste of Jamaica’s culinary and music culture. So if you’re looking to get a true flavor of the island, you’ll love vacationing here in November.

Thanksgiving in Jamaica – Yes, We Have Turkey!

We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here in Jamaica, but we know a lot of our visitors do! In fact, over the Thanksgiving holiday, you’ll see a lot of Americans renting villas and coming together for a festive family meal, and we’ve adapted to make sure they feel right at home. Most big grocery stores stock up on turkeys, and if you’re craving that traditional Thanksgiving dinner, you’ll be able to find all the ingredients to prepare one in your villa or vacation rental. Here's a turkey recipe with a Jamaican twist, that I think you'll enjoy!

If you'd like, you can even find restaurants that’ll cook it up for you if you’d rather keep things easy!

No National Holidays in November

Here in Jamaica, November doesn’t have any big national holidays. If you’re visiting during Thanksgiving, you’ll notice it’s mostly business as usual for us! We do make an exception for Black Friday however, which has grown into a massive event, especially in the major towns and cities.

Many Jamaicans are anticipating their next big discounted purchase as we speak. So, if the Black Friday crowds are what you’ll miss, don’t worry, we have that too. That aside, for us Jamaicans, November is calm before the Christmas-New Year storm that is around the corner.

What to Keep in Mind Before Booking

A Little Rain, but Nothing Major

As November wraps up the end of hurricane season, there’s still a small chance of some rain, but the risk of any big storms is historically low (about 1%). And don’t worry, even if it rains, it usually won’t last long!

A quick shower is typical in the afternoons, and it’s usually refreshing and over before you know it.

Quiet and Relaxed Vibes

With fewer tourists around, some areas might feel a bit quieter than the busier months of December through March.

If you’re looking to immerse yourself in a peaceful, laid-back atmosphere, this is the perfect time to be here.

Nightlife in some areas might be a bit toned down, but you can still find great live music, beach bars, and local spots with that easygoing Jamaican vibe.

If you’re looking for beautiful weather, fewer crowds, fantastic food, and a chance to experience Jamaica at its most authentic, November is the perfect month to visit. It’s an ideal balance of relaxation, adventure, and culture, with some great deals to make it all more affordable.

You’ll get all the warmth and hospitality we’re known for, plus a taste of Jamaica’s vibrant culinary and music scene. So pack your bags and get ready for a truly special Jamaican getaway!
