Hello,
I am Shirley Marks Whitmore, an avid genealogical researcher. After many years of being involved in traditional gen research I resorted to trying out genetic genealogy, and have a small number of matches to folks who were born in or have roots in Jamaica!
This is very exciting to me because I, like most researchers in the states, live to have a connection to people who were born else where is the diaspora. Just wondering what are some of the resources available (online or other wise) for those of us wishing to try and document our Jamaican roots?
Thank you for any input.
Best regards,
Shirley
P.S. Names that might lead to my ancestors include Parchement/Parchment and Hogsdon.

Hi Shirley,
Thanks for your inquiry and congrats on your research!
I am not aware of any resouces that allows you to document your findings, but I'd be happy to direct you the local government agency that deals with these matters, the Registrar General's Department. If they don't currently facililate that service, then perhaps they can point you in the right direction.
