Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, especially on vacation in Jamaica. You’ll have a full day of exhilarating activities and attractions to visit or to lounge by the seaside (both are equally energy-consuming).
The most difficult part of getting breakfast when you are in Negril outside of your resort, is where to choose. So, here are 5 of the many delicious options available to you.

1. Patsy’s Coffee Shop 

Like any good coffee shop in Jamaica would, Patsy’s serves only the best of Blue Mountain coffee to its customers and a cup of coffee by the seaside first thing in the morning sounds like the way every morning should begin.

And if coffee isn’t your thing, don’t count it out just yet, teas are also on the menu as well. The breakfast menu is quite extensive. With both Jamaican and American breakfasts available.

  • The classic Jamaican breakfast - ackee and saltfish or callaloo with ground
    provisions (yam, potatoes, dasheen), plantains, bammy or fried dumplings

  • Omelette - (cheese, veggie, western, ham & cheese, bacon & cheese, bacon, ham & cheese or lobster) served with hash browns and toast

  • Eggs - (fried, scrambled, poached, sunny-side up, over easy, over medium ) served with hash browns and toast

  • Waffles

  • Pancakes

  • Porridge

Get a few vitamins in and finish off with a fruit platter or, grab a dessert, it is never too early for a delicious slice of something sweet.

Pasty’s Coffee Shop not only serves breakfast, but you can also return for lunch or an evening beer as well.

2. Chicken Lavish Restaurant

No, despite the name, the menu is not just filled with various chicken dishes. They have a traditional Jamaican breakfast menu of Ackee and Saltfish or Curried or Brown Stewed Chicken served with fried dumplings, boiled dumplings, yams and boiled green bananas.

Breakfast isn’t the only thing on the menu either, Chicken Lavish Restaurant is open every day from 10 AM to 10 PM. So stop by anytime.

3. Café Goa

Being on vacation means getting whatever you want whenever you want it, right?

Well if it’s breakfast that you want and you are in Negril, then that is definitely possible. Café Goa serves delicious breakfast options all day.

The rustic little café on the Norman Manley Boulevard serves banana pancakes, French toast and omelettes as well as other Jamaican and American breakfast options.

Also on the menu are fruit smoothies, angry bloody Mary and of course coffee.

There is live music on a Sunday to entertain customers and complimentary Wi-Fi to catch up on emails or whatever you need to do until you get back to your resort.

Although they serve breakfast all day, you can still stop by for lunch or dinner.

4. Marley’s By The Sea

Even if you aren’t staying at the CocoLaPalm resort where the restaurant is located, their breakfast restaurant, Marley’s by the Sea is a top recommendation for a delicious start to the day.

The coffee here really kicks the morning into high gear and then you can order your favourite breakfast dishes, whether international or local.

5. Dumpling Shop

Now the Dumpling Shop is not your average restaurant with a set daily menu.

They are open 24 hours daily and serve a selection of hearty Jamaican breakfasts including liver, kidney, ackee and saltfish, brown stew chicken and curry chicken served with fried dumplings, yam, bananas and fried breadfruit.
