Air Canada Expands Flights to Jamaica for Winter Season

Air Canada is set to increase its flights to Jamaica for the upcoming 2024/25 winter tourist season, with 14 weekly flights planned to enhance connectivity between Canada and the island.

Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer for Air Canada Vacations, Hugo Coulombe, announced that the airline will operate three flights per week from Montreal to Montego Bay, seven weekly flights from Toronto to Montego Bay, and four weekly flights from Toronto to Kingston.

Speaking at the 28th annual Canadian Travel Golf Tournament Dinner, held recently at Sandals Ocho Rios Beach Resort in St. Ann, Coulombe emphasized Canada’s position as Jamaica’s second-largest tourism source market, following the United States. He highlighted the strong ties between the two nations, noting that Jamaica has long been a favored destination for Canadian travelers.

“Air Canada Vacations has been operating in Jamaica for over 40 years, not to mention the 75 years that Air Canada has been flying to the island,” Coulombe remarked.

He further noted that the winter tourist season, beginning December 15 and continuing through April 2025, will benefit from the increase in direct flights. According to Coulombe, the airline has addressed many of the airlift challenges that have arisen in recent years.

“We continue to collaborate with our partners, as demonstrated by our ongoing support for this prestigious golf tournament, now in its 28th year and still growing,” he added.

Gary Sadler, Executive Vice President for Global Sales and Industry Relations at Unique Vacations, also highlighted the importance of strong partnerships and air connectivity for the continued growth of Jamaica’s tourism sector.
