Contest Entry #026 - Winnifred Beach, Portland, Jamaica
Ahhhh Winnifred beach. A favorite for locals and tourists. One of my favorite beaches and coincidentally one of the last public beaches in Portland, Jamaica.
Winnifred is located in Fairy Hill. You can take the road down, or if your walking there is a shorter footpath leading down to the beach.
There is a rope swing that will make you feel like a child again, many food options and even public restrooms on the beach.
All of the vendors there remind everyone to throw their garbage in the bin. It has really been a team effort to keep this beach free and to the public and it shows with the pride people take in maintaining it.
Go down there on most holidays and experience a beach party Jamaican style. Everyone comes out looking great with their music systems playing.
Come down on most weekdays and enjoy a relaxed day by the beach.
