Hi! Do you have any recommendations for Valentine's day for couples. Like great restaurants or nice beaches or massages in Jamaica.

Hi Shae,

Thanks for your question. According to the last weather update I saw today, Chicago is pretty much below-freezing right now, yikes!

But we have several warm alternatives to make your Valentine’s Day extra special for you and your partner.

Let me say straight off the bat that if you choose an all-inclusive, the restaurants, beaches, and massages will be right at your fingertips.

Most all-inclusive have a spa and some have as many as 7 restaurants offering cuisines unique to Jamaica or tastes from around the world.

You can even get your massage done under a palm tree if that is your desire. It should be relaxing. Imagine the rhythm of the waves creating their own music as you enjoy your massage.

Of course, this website has a host of recommendations for high and low-budget all-inclusive. I have to say that SeaGarden Beach Resort offers an excellent mix of all your interests, with entertainment and fun activities are thrown in.

Hotels are often on their own private beach (some even allow you to be nude) but if you are a prude like me, you will still have loads of fun or you could just enjoy the ambiance with your partner.

Some locations have tours to beaches around the country; ask at the tour desk. If you choose to be adventurous, go ahead.

On the western end, there is the Long Bay beach in Negril. This stretch of beach is a perfect 7 -). Seven miles of white sand, warm turquoise water, and spots to soak in the sun. I visit this beach as much as I can.

The North Coast could find you and your partner chilling at Doctor’s Cave Beach in Montego Bay, on my last visit, local masseuses were doing massages right there!

I thought that was just super -). Dunn’s River Falls has a great beach in addition to the renowned waterfall. Remember in Jamaica a beach is never too far away.

As far as restaurants go I know fine dining is available at Evita’s in Ocho Rios – they are authentic Italian by the way and the setting is very romantic.

There is the Pelican in Montego Bay offering local and international cuisine as well. This website or the Jamaica Yellow Pages (Yello) website will give you broader options.

I think Jamaica is just the perfect warm alternative for some downtime with your Spuggie (Jamaican for special someone).
