Seven Mile Beach in Jamaica is one of the countryโ€™s most popular attractions. Its name is derived from the long stretch of pristine sand that runs along the coast, making it the perfect spot to swim, sunbathe, and relax. But, there is a lot more to do on the Seven Mile Beach than what meets the eye.

What to do on the Seven Mile Beach with Kids

  1. Beach day- the simplest and probably one of the most exciting activities for children, especially younger kids, on the seven-mile beach will probably be just having a fun beach day. From swimming in the level, crystal clear waters and burying each other in the sand to building sandcastles and collecting seashells, their day on the seven-mile beach is bound to be a fun 1.

  2. Water Sports- Seven Mile Beach offers a variety of water sports, including snorkelling, scuba diving, banana boat riding, kayaking, jet skiing, and parasailing. The crystal-clear waters make snorkelling and scuba diving an unforgettable experience, as you and your children get to see exotic marine life up close. Jet skiing and parasailing are more adrenaline-fueled activities that let you all enjoy the coastline and the Caribbean Sea.

  3. Indulge in local cuisine- Seven Mile Beach has a wide range of food options to suit all tastes. You can sample Jamaican cuisine, such as jerk chicken, oxtail stew, and ackee and saltfish. There are also plenty of seafood restaurants, which serve lobster, crab, and shrimp. You can also find international cuisine, such as Italian, Mexican, and Indian. Most restaurants along the beach either have a separate kids' menu or a menu with kid-friendly options. Rather than a snack than a full meal? You will find vendors strolling the beach selling Jamaican snacks such as gizzada, peanut drops, grater cake and more.

  4. Horseback riding- While not as common as water sports and boat tours, horseback riding is another fun activity that you can enjoy on the seven-mile beach with kids. Horsemen are usually found anywhere along the stretch of the beach and for a cost, they will take you along the beach on horseback.

  5. Boat Tour- There are many boat tours available on Seven Mile Beach. You can take a sunset cruise, a glass-bottom boat tour, or even a snorkelling tour where your children can explore the coral reefs and sea creatures in the area.

These activities are usually available through your hotel or resort or can be arranged by them for you. However, strolling along the stretch of the beach you will run into independent operators offering these activities as well.

Where to stay on the Seven Mile Beach with kids

While there are tons of great activities for your children to have on the beach, where they stay and how they accommodate children is just as important. Here are three of the best resorts on the seven-mile beach for kids.

Beaches Negril

You can ask one of the globally certified nannies to help you if you need child care assistance while on vacation in addition to the kids club, lazy river, and waterpark. Don't fear; the kid's club squad also includes qualified international players. Although it has an additional expense, the value of the service you get far outweighs it.

Address: Long Bay, Norman Manley Blvd, Negril

Azul Beach Resort
From the very beginning, they take into account the requirements of their younger visitors. When you get to their resort, you will receive complimentary refreshments, and for the youngsters some complimentary sparkling wine, chocolate milk, or a smoothie. While on holiday at Azul, kids can also visit the Azulitos Kids Club for children ages 3 to 12 or swim in the pool reserved for young guests (ages 4 to 12). Hobie cats, canoes, kayaks, and boogie boards are a few examples of non-motorized water activities.

Address: Norman Manley Blvd, Negril

Royalton Negril
Any family holiday must include a waterpark, and Royalton Negril has one as well as a special kids' pool. And if you're going on a trip with relatives who would prefer to forego the family vacation and stay at the same resort as the children send them to the nearby Hideaway at Royalton.

Address: Norman Manley Boulevard, Negril, Westmoreland
Phone: 1-876-619-2303
