Myers's Rum, founded in 1879 by Fred L. Myers, has stood the test of time, becoming synonymous with the essence of Jamaica. The brand's success lies not only in its exquisite taste but also in its dedication to preserving traditional craftsmanship. Distilled in the heart of Jamaica, Myers's Rum embodies the island's spirit, capturing the essence of its sugarcane fields and the soul of its people.
What sets Myers's Rum apart is its meticulous distillation process. Crafted from the finest sugarcane molasses, the rum undergoes a unique blend of fermentation and distillation, capturing the pure essence of Jamaica's sugarcane fields. The ageing process takes place in aged white oak barrels, allowing the rum to absorb the rich flavours of the wood, the rum is then meticulously blended to produce a unique colour, aroma, and flavour, giving it a distinctive taste that's smooth and robust.
Myer's produce two types of rum, their original dark rum and a white a rum.
Blackstrap molasses notes, a faint coating of ripe pineapple, as well as traces of coffee, celery, allspice, hazelnut, and toffee is what you will get from this dark rum. At first taste the flavour is buttery, and it develops flavours of sweet sugar cane, caramel, tobacco, leather, honey, and dark chocolate with raisin and fig undertones. Along with brown sugar, smokiness, and underlying oak flavours, the finish offers a rich dark chocolate flavour.
The molasses created after cooking Jamaican sugarcane is used to make Myers's Platinum White Rum. Following that, both continuous and pot still distillation are used to ferment and distil the molasses. It is then carefully blended, matured in white oak barrels, then filtered to take the colour and sharpness out of the flavour.
Myers's Rum is not only meant for sipping in solitude but also serves as the perfect base for a myriad of cocktails. From the classic Mai Tai to the bold Jamaican Rum Punch, its versatility knows no bounds.
