October's (2017) Feedback Question...
Congrats To... Robert of Manchester, Jamaica!
His submission... Buy Jamaican or Buy Canadian won the featured position.
By now I am assuming you heard of the pending by-election in St. Mary South East to replace the deceased MP right?
The expected closely contested race is really between the PNP's Dr. Shane Alexis and the JLP's Dr. Norman Dunn.
But, a big BUT...
Dr. Shane Alexis is not a Jamaican despite him living here most of his life! However, under the law, "any citizen of a Commonwealth country, such as Canada or Grenada (which I understand he is), can sit in the Jamaican Parliament". Read more on that here.
He has since applied for Jamaican citizenship and is expected to be successful. My question to you though is this....
Do you think Dr. Alexis was unfairly treated? Or Is this citizenship issue justified? AND Do you think this will affect his chances at the polls on October 30?
