With so many juicy fruits available all year round, it is no surprise that Jamaicans have many variations of fruit punch. Even if you aren’t quite fond of a particular fruit, it is easily swapped for one of your favourites.

How long does homemade fruit punch last?

Fruit punch, when refrigerated can last up to 5 days. If it is frozen, however, it will last longer - even up to two months.

I’ll share with you 3 of our favourites here. The measurements will be up to you.

Jamaican Carrot, Cantaloupe & Pineapple Juice Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • Carrots (washed, peeled, cut into chunks)
  • Pineapple (peeled, sliced or in chunks)
  • Cantaloupe (peeled, chunks)
  • Lime (bottled can be used as well)
  • 1 cup of water
  • Sugar to sweeten (optional)

PROCEDURE

  1. Pour the water into your blender and add a mixture of your blended fruits to it. Be sure not to add too much. If you are doing a large amount consider blending in batches.
  2. If you are doing a lot, strain your first batch and now use this to blend the remaining fruits instead of water.
  3. Simply repeat this process until all your fruits are done.
  4. Strain your drinks into a container, add your lime juice and sweeten if necessary.

Chill and serve over ice.

Papaya, Pineapple & Lemon Juice Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • Papaya (peeled, seeds removed and in chunks)
  • Pineapple (peeled, sliced or chunked)
  • Lemon (squeezed, seeds removed)
  • 1 cup of water
  • Sugar to sweeten (optional)

Cherries, Mangos, Passion Fruit & Starfruit Juice Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • Cherries (cut in half)
  • Mangoes (peeled and seed removed)
  • Passion Fruit
  • 1 cup of water
  • Sugar to sweeten (optional)

June Plums & Jamaican Apple Juice Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • June plum (peeled, seed removed)
  • Otaheite Apple (remove seed and cut into chunks)

Orange, Cherries & Pineapple Juice Recipe

INGREDIENTS

  • Cherries (cut in half)
  • Orange (squeezed and seeds removed)
  • Pineapple (peeled, sliced or chunked)

The methods for all five refreshing recipes are the same. Ensure your fruits are washed thoroughly and cut into blender-friendly sizes. There is no particular order in which you need to blend your fruits. Then just strain and sweeten to your liking.

Tips For Making Jamaican Blended Fruit Punch

  • You might have realized that I only recommend 1 cup of water and then using your first batch of drinks to make the rest. This is entirely up to you.

However, this will make different flavours in your drink stand out more since it wouldn’t be diluted with water.

  • Also, you might love an icy drink, especially on a hot summer day. But, after a while, the ice changes the taste of your drink.

To prevent this, just freeze some of your drinks in ice trays and use them to keep your drinks chilled instead!

Can I add rum to my fruit punch?

Sure you can! These drink recipes can be alcoholic or non-alcoholic, it is all up to you.

These aren’t the only variations of Jamaican blended fruit punch recipes. Jamaica has so many fruits to choose from all you need is your blender and your favourite fruits. Enjoy!
