I think we were all on edge for day ten, the final day, for team Jamaica at the Paris Olympics. Our athletes hadn't brought home as much medals as we were accustomed to for the 2024 Olympic games, despite their valiant efforts.

Unfortunately day 10 wasn't much better. Of three events we had, two DNF, did not finish.
Let’s take a look at how our athletes performed on day 10.
Women’s 100m Hurdles Finals
Ackera Nugent had a tragic moment when she lost her balance on a hurdle and could not complete the women's 100-meter hurdle final.
Men's High Jump Finals
In the men's high jump final, Romaine Beckford put out an incredible effort but was unable to cross the 2.27-meter bar, placing her in tenth place.
Women’s 4x400 Relay Finals
Team Jamaica was disappointed as they were unable to complete the race after Andrenette Knight dropped the baton during the second leg of the women's 4x400m final. giving us the day's second DNF.
Gold: 1
Silver: 3
Bronze: 2
Here is what social media had to say to our athletes on day 9.
Sydjea Savalas Sidionie Rhone: "It’s okay! We appreciate your effort anyways. This Olympics just wasn’t for us! I promise 2028 will be much better! #TeamJamaica"
Carl Brown: "It’s a learning experience because we’ve a pretty young team. We’re proud of you all and the effort which you gave on behalf of representing our nation. Gratitude is a must, it’s not only when we’re on top. This is a low point in our history of worlds championships events and I believe we’ll be better next time."
Audrey Harris Clarke: "Sad situation! This too shall pass Team Jamaica 🇯🇲. This was not our year, we will refocus and come back better for the World Championship next year and even better next Olympics 👏 👍 🙌"
Antoinette Latty Johnson: “So disappointed, but I thank them for their efforts and encourage them to keep going. Team Jamaica 🇯🇲”
Heidian Robinson: “Great run by the ladies especially the 3rd leg .. 🇯🇲”
Orville Johnson: “This is what I fear... our athletes run season's bests in heats and semis then lose poorly in finals…”
Aldith Douglas: "Pick yourself up, brush yourself off and get ready for your next major event ... you represented brand JA with a lot of dignity abd courage and we are grateful 🙏🇯🇲❤️"
Muffet Harrison: "I was wondering what happen to him in the triple jump , see none of his jump throughout, you did exceptionally well , keep up the good works JH , be patience ."
It's a wrap for Team Jamaica at the Paris Olympics 2024. After 10 days of events and competitions we have taken home 6 medals. It certainly wasn't a great year for us.
However we must highlight that many of the athletes from Team Jamaica who participated in the 2024 Olympics we young and unseasoned. With a lot more practice and support, I believe by the next Olympics in 2028, they will be dominating the field and putting Jamaica back on top for the sprint events.
Lets not forget also that 2024 really opened our eyes to the incredibly talented athletes we have representing us in the field events. This should be a sign that we should start giving them as much support as we do the track athletes.
With that being said, what do you think about how Jamaica did in the 2024 Olympics?
