QUESTION: My husband and I are traveling to Jamaica in December. He typically gets a "local" tattoo. We are cautious when away from our local artist,
Have any suggestions??????
ANSWER: by Wellesley July 9, 2012
Hi Debra,
Thanks for your email and thanks for choosing Jamaica.
There are quite a few around, but I suspect that like many other places, many are unregistered and sub-par.
Sometime ago though, someone had asked me about tattoo shops in Jamaica, Ocho Rios to be exact, and I referred them to one. Subsequent to that, another suggestion was given. I'll suggest you start with those.
Here's the link:

This question and answer is posted on my blog as well, so watch the comments at the bottom of this.
I am also posting your question on our popular facebook fan page so I am inviting you to follow the responses from my fans over there as well.
They include ardent Jamaican travelers, locals and business people who might be able to help.

Enjoy!
