Where are Sandals in Jamaica?

There are 7 Sandals resorts in Jamaica (soon to be 8) and they are located in three parishes, Westmoreland, St. James and St. Ann.

Montego Bay, St. James

Montego Bay is the island’s second city. It is also a major tourist resort town, with a mixture of adult-only and family-friendly resorts and hotels. The Hip Strip officially named Jimmy Cliff Boulevard is known for its hopping nightlife and gourmet restaurants.

There are three Sandals Resorts in Montego Bay, both in close proximity to each other. They are all located only about 10 minutes from the Donald Sangster International airport.

  1. Sandals Montego Bay- The first Sandals resort, Sandals Montego Bay, is a design masterpiece with stunning new accommodations, an updated main bar and open-air lobby and a brand-new Over-The-Water Serenity Wedding Chapel. The resort also has 12 fantastic restaurants and six full-service bars. Exchange rights with the Sandals in the area, 7 swimming pools and 3 whirlpools are some of the amenities that make them a good choice.

  2. Sandals Royal Caribbean- Sandals Royal Caribbean provides a romantic getaway with its innovative suites. The private island just off the the resort has a restaurant, bar and the over-water-bungalows which includes the services of a private butler. The private island is accessible by boat.

  3. Sandals Inn (Sandals Carlyle) - Sandals Negril is the smallest of the resorts, located on the Hip Strip in Montego Bay. While it does not all the amenities of the neighbouring Sandals properties, you will still have access to these amenities with their “stay at one, play at three” policy. There are shuttle buses that travel between Sandals Carlyle, Sandals Montego Bay and Sandals Royal Caribbean.

Westmoreland

There are two Sandals resorts in the parish of Westmoreland. They are located in Negril and Whitehouse. Negril is a popular resort town for both families and couples. Some even refer to it as the “capital of casual”.

It is known for its white sandy 7-mile stretch of beach, rugged cliffs and beautiful sunsets. If you are coming in from the Sangster International airport it will take you about an hour and 30 minutes but from the Norman Manley International in Kingston, it will take you approximately 4 hours and 15 minutes.

  1. Sandals Negril- The award-winning, adults-only Sandals Negril resort is located on the best and longest stretch of Jamaica's well-known seven-mile beach and offers opulent lodgings, seven fine dining establishments, and limitless land and water sports. Seven restaurants, 3 whirlpools and 4 pools, and 5 bars with full services are available to you at this resort.

  2. Sandals South Coast- Whitehouse is a well-known fishing village and is not particularly regarded as a tourist town. It’s about 1 hour and 30 minutes from the Donald Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay and around 3 hours from the Norman Manley international airport in Kingston.

The only all-beachfront, all-oceanview resort in Jamaica is Sandals South Coast, which is situated on a 500-acre wilderness preserve. With Over-The-Water Bungalows, Jamaica's largest pool, Latitudes Over Water Bar, an Over-The-Water Wedding Chapel, and Sushi on the Sand restaurant plus 9 authentic eateries, 4 swimming pools and 7 bars, you will be sure to have a great vacation here.

Ocho Rios, St. Ann

Ocho Rios is another tourist destination and you will find two Sandals resorts there. It is a relatively quiet town but has an old-school Jamaican charm.

It’s the town for those who enjoy thrilling adventures as you will find great activities such as climbing the Dunn’s river falls, swimming with the dolphins or going ziplining through the rainforest.

It is an hour and a half from the Donald Sangster International airport and around the same distance from the Norman Manley international airport.

Sandals Ochi- Sandals Ochi is a luxurious hideaway with 105 pools, 16 distinctive dining options, and unlimited golf at the nearby Sandals Golf & Country Club. It is surrounded by 110 acres of lush tropical gardens.

There are also 16 distinct 22 whirlpools and 105 pools, and 11 bars with full services, including a speakeasy.

Sandals Royal Plantation- Only 74 opulent all-oceanview suites are available at Sandals Royal Plantation, which is surrounded by the Ocho Rios Riviera's crystal clear waters and the St. Ann Mountains' undulating hills.

It has the charm of a top-notch all-inclusive Caribbean beach resort and the intimacy of a classy private villa.

Five restaurants, 2 exclusive cove beaches, free rounds of golf at a nearby course plus exchange rights with the Sandals in the area make staying at this resort a great deal.

Sandals Dunn's River - The soon to be opened Sandals Dunn's river will have 260 rooms and suites outfitted with all the luxury amenities you can think of, including the famed Sandals' butler level suites. On top of that, they will have 12 restaurants, bars and pools.

With 7 resorts on the island (and another almost completed), that gives you seven opportunities to enjoy the Sandals luxury and hospitality that is often spoken of. Which Sandals resort is at the top of your list?
