In 1992, Winston Wellington began operating the Travellers Beach Resort. As a frequent traveller himself, Mr. Wellington built the hotel intending to foster international travel, meeting and story-sharing.
Initially, Travellers was just a single cottage serving as a bar and restaurant. The land once covered in untamed Jamaican bush was cleared by Wellington himself, leaving behind three lovely sea grape trees that continue to provide shade for beachgoers and patrons of the restaurant.
The resort has expanded over the years to 60 rooms and a wide range of resort lodgings. Travellers Beach is conveniently located just a 5-minute stroll from Negril's town centre, giving guests the chance to explore the area and fully appreciate Jamaica's rich cultural and historical heritage.
Today some of the amenities include:
Even though itโs smaller in size, Travellers resort accommodations may rival even some of the larger resorts. Some of the amenities you can expect are:
As with most resorts, there are different levels of amenities. While each accommodation offers something different, the features above are the basic amenities you can find in all. Here are the different types of rooms:

We all love an organisation that prides giving back to its surrounding neighbourhood and Travellers beach resort is doing just that.
The Negril Education Environment Trust (N.E.E.T.), a non-profit organisation with a location at Travellers Beach Resort, was founded by Mr. Wellington, a proud Jamaican. To address the nation's need for educational support and resources, NEET was established in 2003. The mission and vision of N.E.E.T. have expanded since its inception.
Through initiatives that increase educational access for both children and adults, collaborations that address public and environmental health issues, and celebrations of Jamaica's rich cultural heritage, N.E.E.T. is dedicated to enhancing the social fabric of Jamaica.
N.E.E.T. carries out its mission by offering three programs: the Medical Mission, Island-wide Book & Computer Distribution, and Computer Literacy. N.E.E.T. has built seven computer libraries in nearby schools and communities and donated over 3 million books and thousands of computers to the island of Jamaica.
Also available are free adult computer literacy classes from N.E.E.T.
