Haven't spent Christmas in Jamaica but I was there one year ago the 29th of December for New Years. It was awesome!
I have to admit, the most exciting part was the lanterns released over the Sea. I wasn't impressed about the excitement of the locals.
Here in the States, the noise is off the chain with all the excitement from everyone. We know how to bring in the New Year for sure.
But for a peaceful New Year, I say yes, go to Jamaica. The Christmas lights from Cocoa LaPalm in Negril were about the only abundant lights I saw.
Alfred's Ocean Palace was the spot. The locals were so much fun!
I actually sat on the beach with a 16 year old German boy who talked about his girlfriend back home. He was so cute in trying to help me understand what he was saying. His dad was enjoying the vibes at Alfreds so he stayed with me and we talked. Two people from totally different worlds on New Years!
I have to say, it was my best New Years ever with him. He was a pure gentleman and we hugged and shook hands when it was all done.
He walked his dad down the beach to their hotel and waved to me as he went by. How sweet was that. Hope he never forgets me.
Thanks Jamaica for the tender moments.
Happy New Year from the United States of America!!!! GOD Bless America and all his creations in the World!!!
