reasons not to go to Jamaica

And, if you ever need a trustworthy and knowledgeable local guide, consider booking a private tour with us!

Here we go, starting with...

1) You Don't Fancy Amazing Sunsets

You've heard, and perhaps read, about the fact that Jamaica has some of the most astounding sunsets in the world - especially observing from the west end of the island!

But that's not your cup of tea - As far as you are concerned, sunsets are probably overrated anyway. If that's how you feel, Jamaica is not for you.

2) You Hate Good Value!

We have a wide range of high end and low end accommodations, some of the best resorts and hotels in the world.

But all things been equal, Jamaica is still one of the most budget-friendly destinations in the Caribbean!

Yes, a declining exchange rate can be blamed for that but makes it even cheaper for visitors coming in.

But if you despise the idea of value, then Jamaica is not for you either.

3) Warmer Weather Is Too Much For You

If the idea of 80 degrees Fahrenheit on a cozy beach chair scares you to death, then don't even think about it!

Leave it to the locals and the others who visit every year to soak it in.

4) You Have A FRIENDLINESS Problem

OK lets face with, we all have people issues, but you know what I mean here right? You just can't seen to get along with anyone and you hate the daylight of meeting people.

If so, this is not for you, Jamaica is the country of friendly people and beautiful smiles - perhaps its biggest asset.

5) Reggae Music Makes You Sick

I agree, not everything is for everyone, and so it the pulsating rhythms of Jamaica's authentic reggae music affects you in anyway, don't venture!

You have the option of ignoring fun parties but chances are you'll still have to contend with traditional reggae music on the transportation as well as the bars and nightly entertainment at your hotel.

6) Who Cares? You Make Your Own Jamaican Dishes

Many people visit Jamaica to savour the delectable local Jamaican cuisine, which represents the best of our mixed cultures. From the national dish and authentic jerk to our tasty dessert delights.

If you already have that locked, then that may, understandably, lower your motivation to visit.

But remember the abundance of tasty tropical fruits you might be missing out on!

7) You Know The Culture - And Is Already Vested In It

The Jamaican culture is an rich amalgamation of cultures, African, Asian, European, and even the indigenous peoples!

That has manifested itself in our language (see patois), our dances, food, music and even aspect of our local lifestyle.

If you already know it - speak the language, dance the dances, cook the dishes and somehow find a way to keep up with latest regularly, then you many not be inclined to visit.

8) You Fear Natural Wonders

So you might have heard about...

  • The world famous Dunns River Falls
  • The 7402 feet Blue Mountains
  • The 7 mile beach in Negril and
  • The Glistening Waters attraction

But perhaps not the majestic Marine Park in Montego Bay, an ecological research with myriads of coral reefs and fish,  and the mystical firewater attraction in St. Ann!

But any of these scare you, please don't visit.

9) You Can't Be Bothered

You are already stuck in your work/ home routine, perhaps living a 6/10 on a life satisfaction scale - and is OK with it?

Why bother to risk that for a country full of adventure, fun places to go and magnificent sights to see!
