We live beneath the sunshine in our Caribbean space
It is not about religion; it is not about one’s race
But sharing as a people, what we love or have to do
In a village, town or city; making different dreams come true
We work to make things happen; life is what we do each day
Turning cents into dollars and helping neighbours find their way
Doing all to strike a balance in our busy bustling lives
Music, dance, and sparkling fashion; drama, sports and plaza limes*
It’s the story of a people sharing culture, time and space
Recognizing different talents; and affording each a place
It’s indeed a patchwork picture; faces, work and fun and dreams
But it hangs so well together; very very well it seems
*Limes – occasions of hanging out/socializing in informal relaxing
environments, especially with friends. (Urban Dictionary)
