As a Montegonian myself, I must say this will be a great choice. From all the amazing resorts, a wide variety of dining options and a popping nightlife, you will have absolutely no regrets.

Speaking about popping nightlife, one of Montego Bay’s hotspots is the Margaritaville. You have probably heard of it because it is quite popular. The Margaritaville in Montego Bay is located on Jimmy Cliff Blvd, more popularly known as Bottom Road or the hip strip.

The hipstrip is the entertainment strip of Montego Bay, here you will find many restaurants, clubs, souvenir shops, bars, casinos and much more.

What does Margaritaville Montego Bay have to offer:

Atmosphere

Let's talk about the atmosphere first. Margaritaville Montego Bay, in my opinion, is exactly what you would imagine a touristy restaurant in Jamaica to be. It’s all wood and colourful decor, with local art pieces spread around the space.

The open and airy layout gives you as much access to the fresh Jamaican breeze as you want. And when the sunsets? An absolutely amazing view from the top deck! It has one of the best views in Montego Bay to catch the sunset.

Food and Drinks

So, the most important part is the food and drinks, right? I can guarantee that you will not be disappointed. You can grab a cold beer if you like, or if you are more like me go for a frozen margarita, umbrellas and all the extra decor included of course.

The drinks menu is impressive, to say the least, and if you are looking for something specific that is not on the drinks menu, the bartenders, who are always super fun and courteous, will pretty much make anything that you can imagine.

The food is just as good too. I am simple when it comes to food, so I always go for the buffalo wings, sweet potato fries and their B.O.B Burger. I have also tried quite a few other things on their menu like their chicken quesadillas and jerk BBQ pork tacos. Whatever you choose to try on their menu I am sure you will thoroughly enjoy.

Attractions

One of the highlights of Margaritaville Mobay is the massive 120-foot waterslide and trampoline set in the sea below their deck. As a non-swimmer, I have never tried, but I must say have seriously considered taking swimming lessons just to be able to join in the fun.

However, do not let my cowardice stop you from trying, many non-swimmers have gone out on the trampoline with their life jackets on. Plus, with the well-trained lifeguards always looking out, you will be quite safe.

Entertainment at Ville:

During the day and non-event weeknights, you can expect a laid-back vibe at Margaritaville, just good food, and great music. However, there are some nights when the entertainment team outdoes themselves.

Thursday Nights- Ladies Night: Thursday nights at Ville have always been known as ladies' night. The party starts at around 10 but women enter for free up until midnight. This is usually packed! The DJ plays a variety of music genres throughout the night and before you know it, it’s 5 am!

Fridays Nights- 5 in the City Happy Hour: This was my go-to Friday evening activity. This starts every Friday at 5 and it is just pure clean fun. This is open to all but is mostly attended by locals, special drinks are usually discounted and there is usually a variety of games to be played.

For some games, you will be placed on different teams, to compete for a variety of prizes. From dominoes to guessing the singer, dance competitions and so many more. After the games are wrapped up, the DJ will play some music for us to get our groove on for an hour or so before we all call it a night.

Saturdays- Party Night Saturday nights at Ville are notorious for having the best parties. Every Montegonian knows that for partying, Friday nights are best at Pier One but Saturdays are for Ville. You can even choose to get there early to grab a nice dinner. The DJ starts prepping the audience around late afternoon to evening. But the real party begins at around 11 PM. It’s a vibe.

Now, let me share a little insider tip. If you're a fan of souvenirs, Margaritaville Montego Bay has a killer gift shop. You can snag everything from t-shirts and hats to quirky beach accessories. It's the perfect way to remember your Jamaican adventure.

In a nutshell, Margaritaville Montego Bay is not just a place to eat and drink – it's a destination. It captures the essence of our Jamaican lifestyle– relaxed, vibrant, and utterly enjoyable. So, whether you're a local looking for a weekend hangout or a visitor wanting a taste of paradise, Margaritaville is where it's at. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!
