What does Jamaica and Linda - an island hopping retired sailor, medical doctor and dietitian have in common?

Ok... let me tell you...

LUNA SEA INN!  - The place to go for peace and relaxation!

My friend June (yes, the real estate lady) has been telling me about Linda & Luna Sea Inn (& Restaurant) all along.

So with a 95% 5 (maximum) star rating on Trip Advisor and rated one of the hottest new hotels in (not just Jamaica, but) the Caribbean by Upscale Magazine, I couldn't wait to set foot on this peninsula - on Jamaica's idyllic south coast.

Well, I did.. And I loved "every - single - minute" of it!!!

I now understand why, even with its high-end appeal, 80% of their visitors are local, and also why many Negril vacationers - hop across here to have lunch & dinner - if not for the full stay!

The Look & Feel (Ambiance)

The intimate feel and the view from the gazebo is astounding! 

And by the way, Linda told me that the sunset here is better than Rick's Cafe, and I don't disbelieve her. I particularly enjoyed watching the pelicans and terns in the late evening from the gazebo.

Accomodation

You have the option to choose from 8 cozy bedrooms + the dolphin cottage, which is ideal for a small family. All of which are fully equipped with all the basic amenities you would have come to know and expect. 

And the restrooms?
Scrupulously clean and elegantly furnished with all the basic amenities.

Food & Drink

Oh, I almost forgot (how could I), the restaurant, which is open to the public, and a hotbed for couples looking for a romantic dinner, is fast becoming one of the preferred places to dine on Jamaica's south coast.

Let's see what's on the menu today...

And have you noticed how reasonable the prices are?
Yup, and that's Jamaican dollars by the way.

All room bookings, by the way, gets a full breakfast, which includes:

• a choice of coffee or tea, 
• fruits 
• and a selection from the traditional Jamaican breakfast menu (ackee and saltfish, baked beans, kidney, callaloo etc - with green bananas, boiled dumplings, plantains or fried dumplings)

I am particularly proud of the fact that they have a "market to table" policy.

And that means, no tins in the kitchen!
All sauces are made right there!

And all produce are sourced locally, directly from local farmers!
The only frozen foods (boasts Dr. Linda) are wings, shrimp and ice-cream!

Top Food Menu Items

Jerk Chicken

The following are some of their customers favourite - she said; be sure to ask.

• Jerk Chicken with candied plantain 
• Deep fried lobster (a favourite for locals)
• Coconut Curried Sauce (a favourite for tourists) &
• Beef Wellington ( a delicacy )
  

And Drinks?

They have a really cozy and convenient bar that satisfy all tastes.

Clients seem to love to frozen drinks I learned.

  - A blend of blackberry liqueur, cranberry, vodka and lime. &
• Captain Moran's Revenge 
  - A secret blend :-)

Just be mindful that it is a public beach and it is situated right there alongside the main road.

And water sports abound with snorkeling, scuba, water skiing, sailing and fishing readily available!

• Their lobby and restaurant restrooms, in addition to at least one room, are handicapped accessible.
• They've already hosted a number or local and intentional icons. Some of the most recent includes Sizzla (local entertainer), the Custos of Kingston and FDA representatives from the US.
• Luna Sea Inn gets a lot of overflow from Sandals Whitehouse (Now Sandals Southcoast)
• Try having your meal at one of the tables near the shoreline.
  It adds that special vibe to any moment/event.

  A local H2B program that sends temporary workers to the USA.
