Public transportation can be a hassle here in Jamaica, especially if you travel frequently between parishes. And, with the high rate of motor vehicle accidents, it can be quite scary too. Not to mention, the uncomfortable position of being jammed into coaster buses without even enough room to stretch or even wiggle your legs.
Add on to that, the fact that there is often times no restoom stop even when travelling will be over three hours long, and you can imagine why so many people dread the journey.

Thankfully, Knutsford Express came along and now Jamaicans have access to a luxurious, comfortable, relaxing and safer option for travelling between cities and towns. This does come at a cost though, it is almost 3 times more expensive. However, when you take into consideration safety and comfort, it is definitely worth it.
Knutsford Express began operations on June 01, 2006. Their main goal was to provide top-tier service for people travelling between the island’s two major cities, Montego Bay and Kingston, along with the two major airports found in the cities as well.
Through additions and expansions they were able to provide connections to other towns on the north and south coasts. Their south coast connections are in Negril, Savanna-la-mar, Luana, Gutters and Mandeville, while their north coast connections are in Falmouth and Ocho Rios.
With over 50 routes, you can get to any of these locations as well as their additional locations in Spanish Town, Lucea and May Pen. They have also established two express service stations in Port Maria and Annotto Bay as well as a full service location in Port Antonio to serve the parishes of St. Mary and Portland.
Travelling with Knutsford Express is a lot like travelling with an airline. You will be required to check-in, each passenger is allowed two pieces of luggage each with a weight limit of 20 and 50 lbs.
If a passenger has a third Luggage they will have to pay an additional fee for it. If your luggage goes missing, the company will cover up to $250 USD in missing items or luggage. You will have a scheduled departure and arrival time as well.
On your journey, you will be able to relax in the fully air-conditioned vehicle and buckle your seatbelts in plush high back, adjustable seats. There is wifi available to you, or if you prefer you can just enjoy a movie being played on the Television. Feel free to enjoy your complimentary bottle of water as there is a half bathroom available as well.
They have a user-friendly website that makes it easy for you to schedule and book your trips. Once you visit the website you will be able to input where you are travelling from and select the journey best for you, based on where you are going.
You will also be required to enter the date or dates you will be travelling and if it's a single or round trip. Students with school IDs seniors (individuals over the age of 65) and children between 2 and 12 years travel at a discounted rate. Absolutely no pets are allowed.
Once you have entered all the information for your trip, you will be directed to a page that will provide you with the cost of your journey and the scheduled times that are available for the selected date(s).
Knutsford Express Coach Charter gives you the option to have an even more exclusive experience. Perfect for those travelling in a large group or hoping to tour the parts of the island. All you need to do is fill out the form available on their website and you will receive a quotation.
Knutsford Express also provides courier services, allowing you to send packages from city to city, from any of their ten terminals across the island. This service is offered 7 days per week. Ensure that all items are properly packaged but not sealed as they reserve the right to inspect all packages. They do not deliver the following items:
The delivery fee starts at $650JMD for the first 10 lbs and $45 JMD for each lb over. There are a few exceptions such as the size of the package that may make these charges differ. If packages are not picked up within 3 days of arrival to the destination, storage fees will apply.
If packages are lost, stolen or damaged, the company is only liable to pay up to $6000 JMD per package.
Knutsford Express is great for those who value their comfort, time and safety!
