While as an island we are awesome as is, with our addictingly vibrant culture, warm loving and fun people and stunning flora and fauna, our impressive all-inclusive resorts are a great addition. As it is, we have many all-inclusive resorts, but it’s always fun to try something new. In May 2024, that’s exactly what we are getting, a new resort, Hotel Riu Palace Aquarelle.

This new gem promises to elevate and set a new standard for all-inclusive resorts. The Hotel Riu Palace Aquarelle is situated on the seafront at White Bay Beach in the historic town of Falmouth. The resort promises to offer guests an exceptional all-inclusive experience, complete with high-end amenities, gourmet dining, and a wide array of activities for all ages.

Accommodations

This new and quite expansive resort has over 700 rooms. That’s a lot of rooms to choose from! Like most resorts, it offers a variety of options to suit different needs and preferences. We are talking from the 55m2 suites with sea views to the more expansive 58m2 family rooms with two bedrooms, each designed with comfort and relaxation in mind. After all, that’s what vacations are for. You can choose from super king-size beds or twin extra-long beds, with rooms also offering amenities like air conditioning, satellite TV, a minibar, and a drinks dispenser.

If you are looking for a more unique experience, the Junior Suite Swim-up provides a private pool on the terrace, ideal for a secluded dip. Other suites offer views ranging from partial to frontal sea views, each with a balcony or terrace to take in the breathtaking sunsets.

Dining

One of my favourite things about all-inclusive resorts, is the all-you-can-eat food buffets and Hotel Riu Palace Aquarelle has quite a few options to choose from. The main restaurant offers buffet-style meals with live cooking stations, while the Krystal restaurant provides exquisite à la carte fusion cuisine. For those seeking variety, the hotel also has an Italian restaurant, a Japanese restaurant, and a Steakhouse, each offering unique and innovative dishes.

If you're in the mood for something different, the Jerk Grill restaurant provides a delightful buffet of grilled meats and vegetables, perfect for groups. With international drinks available 24 hours a day, a poolside drink service, and room service on call, every craving is met with ease.

Entertainment

Unless you plan on spending your entire vacation in your hotel room, you are probably gonna go searching for entertainment and fun activities. With four outdoor pools, a children's pool, and the "Splash Water World" water park, there's something for everyone at this resort. The hotel also provides a range of sports and activities, including stand-up paddle surfing, kayaking, snorkelling, and even introductory scuba diving lessons in the pool.

Their entertainment program caters to both adults and children. While adults can enjoy shows, live music, and a variety of fitness activities, kids can participate in the "RiuLand" program, designed for ages 4 to 7 and 8 to 12, with daily activities and games.

The Hotel offers a range of opportunities for adventure and exploration. Guests can play beach volleyball, try out various water sports, or venture off-site for excursions to the north of the island to explore some popular nearby attractions such as Glistening Waters, Dolphin Cove and Mystic Mountain.

Relaxation and Wellness

For an extra dose of relaxation, the hotel features a Wellness Centre with body massages, beauty treatments, and a hair salon. There is also a fully equipped gym and steam bath to ensure that health and wellness are part of the experience. The Renova Centre, with its treatment rooms and beauty salon, is designed to help guests leave stress behind and rejuvenate during their stay.
