"HANDS"
Ten prongs, knuckles and bones
Two palms at the end of arms
Ten beds with ten nails
Coming together to give a yell
Wave bye, bye or hear a call
Grasp a pencil or throw a ball
Flesh and blood, Oh’ what a pair
Lace a shoe or comb your hair
Ligaments flexed and sinews too
What wouldn’t I do for you?
Shake a rug, hold a pan; As you grow I to expand
To reach for love whenever I can
Hold your crutches to help you stand
I can raise windows and open doors
Paint a wall or mop a floor
I thrash at birth most babies’ first cry
I wipe the tear when death comes by
I help you hug, wrestle and play
I rub your eyes to open today
I help the yawn that says “Good Night”
I pull the switch that turns out the light
And when all your work of day is through
I rub the ache that rest you
I am your “Good Deeds” all faithful and true
“Thank You Father” or;
Am I just a pair of hands to you?
“To God be the Glory”
