Hello Wellesley… Greetings from Maryland, USA!

Thank you for your regular emails that are chock full of the most interesting information about our beloved island.

I love the many tidbits of historical facts and the videos about the people and life in Jamaica at the present time. I signed up for your emails quite a few years ago and continue to enjoy each and every one to date!

Last week I had the greatest surprise and pleasure to see and hear your Spotlight guest Rosemary Dawn Allison whom I haven’t seen since she left for Italy. We were colleagues when we both worked for UNICEF at the United Nations over 25 years ago!

The diaspora gets wider and wider as time goes by. I have another very good friend also living in Italy (Tivoli) and one in Sweden, who tells me there is a small group of Jamaicans in and around Stockholm.

There is also quite a group in Geneva, Switzerland (retirees from the United Nations European Hqs) who opted to remain there, as also a handful in Japan. I’ve even heard of one or two in Albania (where is that you might ask… Google will find it for you).

If there was a way to reach some of these people, it could generate a great deal of interest for this segment of your newsletter. I’m not computer-savvy enough to help you :-)

That said, I will of course be checking out the various links provided and look forward to your next edition of My-Island-Jamaica.
