Question about: British citizen by jamaican birth before 1962?
I was told by someone that because I was born before Jamaica got itโs independence in 1962 from Great Britain I am a British citizen as well.
Is that true?
If itโs so, how can I go about getting some form of documentation which will clarify that.

Hey Marjorie, thanks for asking!
I inquired of the British High Commission in Kingston and was advised that the best way to determine British citizenship was to complete an online check at their UK government's website.
