Did you Know?
-------------------
- ......that "YS" or Wyess: is the name of the estate and river near to Middle Quarters, St. Elizabeth. The origin of the name is uncertain as on early maps it is spelled Wyess and is said to be derived from a Gaelic word meaning wind. It is possible that the “YS” was originally the estate mark which would have been stamped on hogsheads of sugar (VisitJamaica.com)
Well, now you know!

Jamaica Patwa Forum
A novelty idea!
A subscriber from France asked me to help her translate to Jamaican patios, and I did.
But that gave me a great idea...just allow others to use that thread to ask the Jamaican patois meaning of words or phrases.
Here's the forum thread, go ahead and take advantage of it or forward to your friends who might be struggling to learn or understand Jamaican patios.
Win-able Photos
Since the last ezine, I've gotten some awesome photos in the photo contest. There's one with a Jamaican breakfast, one with a view of freeport, Montego Bay from the hills, another from Columbus Park, and the Ram Goat with the Rooster. All lovely and win-able! It's getting warm over there now, so please take the time to submit yours right now and start getting some ratings and comments!
Ann's Sixteenth Trip To Jamaica
Another of My-Island-Jamaica.com's ardent fan is coming home. This will be here 16th trip! Amazing huh? And she has special plans this time. She said it won't be the same. Here's Ann Tracey's exciting announcement. https://www.my-island-jamaica.com/trip-to-jamaica-sixteenth-time-and-super-excited.html. You can't help but share the thrill and enthusiasm, can you?
